ABOUT Abdullah Paşa Konağı

The mansion is located in the Aşağıhamam neighborhood in the Sivas district, Divriği. It was built at the beginning of the century. The Pasha family lived between 1865 and 1917. Pasha was one of the most established families in Divrigi and had this mansion built, which had a semi-official function before the First World War. The mansion, built by Ömer Usta, is different from the classical Divriği house types and brought many innovations to Divriği architecture with its construction.

The original plan of the mansion consists of two main parts, namely the selamlik and the harem, and the mabeyn part between the two. Parts of the harem and mabeyn were destroyed by fire. The courtyard of the mansion is entered through an ornate gate, which has no other example in Divriği. In the Selamlık courtyard, there is a fountain, attmesi, a well, servants' quarters, a large landing, and a central gate for passage to the harem. The ground floor was used as a barn except for a few rooms. From an open sofa on the upper floor, one enters through a large front door to the Selamlık sofa. In the corridor, there are the stairs that lead to the Selamlık mansion and the main hall, the doors that open to the mabeyn part, and the doors that open to the back rooms. In the Selamlık section, the main hall is a large space facing four facades, and the passionflower ceiling decoration is one of the most important examples of Divrigi. There is also a passionflower ornament in the mabeyn room of the mansion. The original plan lost its shape as it was used as a military office, hospital and police station for more than 30 years.

The mansion was restored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The mansion is owned by the municipality of Divrigi, it was decided to be converted into a boutique hotel by the municipality.
