Rwenzori Mountains National Park

In 1991, the Rwenzori Mountains National Park was established on the Ugandan side of the Rwenzori Mountains. This includes the central part of the Rwenzori Mountains with its lush tropical forests. The 996 km² national park was founded to protect the landscape, flora and fauna and preserve them for the future. Today, the reserve is managed by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA).
