ABOUT Neuschwanstein Castle
Neuschwanstein Castle is located above Hohenschwangau near Füssen in the southeastern Bavarian Allgäu. The building was built from 1869 for the Bavarian King Ludwig II as an idealized idea of a knight's castle from the Middle Ages. The designs come from Christian Jank, the execution was carried out by Eduard Riedel and Georg von Dollmann. The king lived only a few months in the castle, he died before the complex was completed.
